Meeting was held with the employees of “Inima de copil” foundation. ThePresident of the Foundation, Mrs. Daniela Ariton, introduced her team and their methods of work. Detailed information about their work – review of materials, albums etc., was given to the project partners. There was a meeting of the partners in the office of “Heart of the Child” – an orphan support foundation. Exchange of materials and information was performed.. Summary of the results from the meeting in Caudri, France was made. An international seminar “Education of Youths in Difficulty – A Priority” was organized and a press-conference for the local TV and media in a hall in the Galatz Prefect’s Office was held.

The host partner organized a visit to the Country Directorate for Perfection of Children’s Rights dealing with accommodation of orphan children in recipient families. They work with 2000 children from the district /region/.

A visit to the Social Trade – a center for vocational training was offered to the project participants. Observation was carried out: of a kitchen – a practical course for cooks; training halls for waiters, barmen, hair-dressers, beauty salons, foreign languages.

We had a visit to Forget Me Not – an orphanage with the Heart Of The Child foundation located about 50 km from Galatz, where 20 children between 4 and 20 years of age live in two houses /one for boys and one for girls/ was organized by the host institution. Introduction was made to the way of organization, financing, problems, education. A show of drawings, embroidery and open air devices /a shade, slides/ made by the boys working in the carpentry shop was performed.

A visit was held to “Dundrea de Jos” – a cultural center in Galatz for everyone in the age scope 16/26. The center provides relation with the risk group children – Romany, orphans – and their socialization with children growing in a normal family environment. Observation of a drawing studio, a Romany violin band, dance ensemble for Romanian folk dances, children’s singer group, ethnographic section was organized. During the visit to the Student Cultural Home we were shown a recently finished computer hall with Internet financed by a Dutch foundation.

A visit to a branch of the Placement Center was organized by the host institution. Meeting was held with children from different ages /between 15 and 20/ who are finishing their education but have dropped out of school for different reasons. They graduate with a diploma from a specialized course for bakers.

A visit to the Procdriera – an Association for training and professional development assistance: training halls, foreign language rooms, chemical laboratories etc.

A working meeting of the partners was held. The preparation of the tasks for the meeting in Bulgaria and Spain was discussed. The project results up to that moment were summarized. A walk was organized in the afternoon , on which we had the possibility to talk with orphans from the Galatz orphanage and with representatives of the Peace Corps, USA.
