The meeting had included partners from Bulgaria , Romania , Italy , Spain and Cyprus who presented materials concerning the system of evaluation and self-evaluation in formal and in/non-formal education. The discussions were extremely interesting and all the partners were enough prepared to submit the need of more detailed information to be included.

The experience of Romanian partners was significant presenting their achievements in developing the strategy, methods and standards in the centralized process of teaching and assessment. The Education Reform Project as a part of the general Romanian strategy for the development and educational system achieves the goals available in the countries as England and Germany . It created the Occupation Standards and Assessment to define and update standards and certification practices in formal and nonformal education to assess and certify each achieved knowledge.

Now the Occupational Standards and Assessment is a department in National Adult Training Board /NATB/ which has the main responsibilities as assessment of the medium and long term adult training needs attained through specific research and analysis; supervising proposals for law regulation that are regarding adult training. Also it provides the collaboration between governmental institutions, autonomous administrative authorities non governmental organizations, national and international organizations that are developing activities in the field of adult training and coordinates at national level the activity of authorizing the providers of adult training.

Standards based assessment focused on the application of knowledge and skills in a person's performance in an occupation.
